The Living Daylights: The Pet Shop Boys!

A bootlegged Pet Shop Boys LP in existence came complete with an instrumental track titled James Bond #1/James Bond #2. The sleeve says that it had originally been meant for The Living Daylights but was never used. Why it was not used is unclear, as it`s pretty good and Bondlike. It may possibly have been because of the group`s antipathy towards soundtrack albums (they also turned down the chance to do the music for The Lives and Loves of a She-Devil and Pretty Woman). ┬áRumor has it they wouldn’t do the title song only and wanted the whole soundtrack or none of it.

The song was later used as the backing track to This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave on the 1990 Behaviour album.
