Background:A KGB operative trying to track down one of it`s wayward own, Pola Ivanova went undercover and underwater to infiltrate one of Max Zorin`s oil pumping stations. There, she ran into James Bond, whose path she had crossed before.
Pola had something Bond desperately wanted….and an audiotape of Max Zorin`s plans as well. When trouble began at the pumping station, Bond and Ivanova teamed up to escape and later retreated to a San Francisco spa to take a relaxing bath together. There, they discussed old times. Pola: “James, that night in London when I was with the Bolshoi, in my dressing room later, did you know I was an agent with orders to seduce you?” Bond: “Why do you think I sent you three dozen red roses.”
Later, while Pola wasn`t looking, Bond stole her audio tape and replaced it with Japanese instrumental music, thus getting the advantage over Pola and General Gogol on their quest to defeat Max Zorin.
